The Allegro messaging system allows us to quickly reach all users of the Allegro computers. It contains two main features, namely the Login Message and the E-Mail notification for critical events.

You can display the login message by simply calling :
$ display_messages.sh === Info for Allegro users === 05-Nov-2014: All Allegro computers successfully rebooted
Critical system changes (e.g., reboots) are also announced through eMail a few days in advance. You have then time to object, if you have important jobs running on our computers, which cannot be delayed. Just contact us if that happens.
If you do not want to be informed through email, you can opt out from that by sending a request to alma@strw.leidenuniv.nl
