: In Memoriam Frank Israel 1946-2026
Thu 24 Sep 2026; On 18 September, Prof. Frank Israel passed away at the age of 79. He is survived by his wife Isa and their children, Marinus and Adriana. Frank was associated with Leiden Observatory for more than half a century. He was an erudite and distinctive figure, a sharp debater, and a highly respected and much-loved colleague.
