: Ana Monreal Ibero awarded NWO Science-M grant for research on planetary nebulae
Thu 7 Aug 2025; We are proud to share that Ana Monreal Ibero has been awarded a prestigious NWO Science-M grant for her research project "Unveiling the hidden complexity of planetary nebulae in 3D." With this grant from the Dutch Research Council (NWO), the researchers will use state-of-the-art spectroscopy to map the full structure and composition of planetary nebulae—beautiful but complex remnants of dying stars. Her work will provide important insights into the late stages of stellar evolution and lay the groundwork for future observations with telescopes such as the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and the upcoming BlueMUSE instrument.
