Goal 4: Further stimulate inclusivity and diversity

Action 10: Continuous monitoring of, and seek for improvements for, procedures on new hires at all levels to minimize (un)conscious biases. This will be done in close collaboration with the EDI committee at Leiden Observatory, and at NOVA.

Realization pathway:

  • 6/2023: Our Equity Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) has been resurrected, with structural membership from scientific staff to safeguard its continuity.
  • 8/2023: Connection to the national EDI committee in astronomy (NAIEC) have been reestablished. Regular web-talks are being presented and properly advertised in the Observatory.
  • We are still looking for ways to make sure the EDI committee is being properly heard and asked for advice for the right issues as the right moment in time. This will be an ongoing process.
